Shoreline Carpentry was founded with a mission: pull carpentry out from behind the woodshed

Texas born and Alabama bred, Tyler has always valued pride of place. The rugged beauty of the Texas Hill Country and the graceful charm of Alabama’s Gulf Coast fostered in him a deep and loving appreciation for the natural world. The formative years of his youth were spent outdoors where his imagination and creativity were free to roam. Desires to create and explore the potential of not only himself but also his surroundings stayed with him throughout the years. Upon graduating college and understanding the applications of his studies to the world around him, he realized the possibilities for taking his craft of woodworking to higher levels; harnessing the aspects of a community's natural beauty, while promoting the heritage of fine craftsmanship.

Greg, the grandson of a woodworker and son of a cabinetmaker, was raised on the virtues of using the right tools for the job.  He worked through college under the tutelage of veteran craftsmen, honing his skills in historical and architectural restoration.  It was there in the Historical Districts of Tuscaloosa, Alabama that his passion for the finest forms of woodworking took hold. After completing his studies in Sustainable Engineering and History of American Architecture, those passions took him to a job in Central Texas.  He was employed as a Project Manager, tasked with the construction of new sustainable built homes from reclaimed historical architecture and materials. Those opportunities led him to Tierra Luz Eco Community in Sayulita Mexico, where he added flares of rustic to the sustainable. Upon returning to the U.S., he found a niche in the artisan homes around Table Rock Lake in Branson, Missouri and the historical district of Springfield.  After consideration, Greg with his wife and children returned to his hometown on the Alabama coast.

In 2017, Greg and Tyler’s professional lives crossed paths and they joined forces on multiple projects.  When the construction of The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo brought them together once more they realized the significance of their collaboration and decided to build a company around their values.  Now, it's possible that everyone knows a carpenter and a woodworker. There is a grandfather or uncle responsible for the quality cabinets that still hang proudly in the family beach house. During holiday gatherings at grandma’s old farmhouse her china is brought from a hand-crafted hutch, set upon a timeless hardwood table, and stories of times past are served.  Shoreline Carpentry handles each project with the same care and detailed craftsmanship that everyone has knowingly come to recognize. They are carpenters not only because they love it , but because they believe people deserve a lasting story- a vision of heritage to be shared with friends and family for years to come.
